... My love affair with Japan dated back since my childhood days of HelloKitty, KeroKeropi and Badtzmaru...
Colorful Tokyo at night
I still remember how I forced my mom to buy me sushi whenever we passed by the sushi store outside SOGO at Plaza Indonesia, I was in primary school then. Mom would shriek in horror each time I popped a raw fish sushi in my mouth (she still does LOL). And how each time I did well in school, she would reward me with a new HelloKitty stationary. Oh not forgetting that Japanese candy were the only sweets my sister and I were allowed to have because according to her, the local sweets in Indo are unhealthy.
Growing up, there were more and more things from Japan that fascinates me. Starting from Purikura (photo stickers) craze in junior high school, Anime, make ups and the insanely cute Tarepanda.
Back then, I constantly bugged my Dad to bring us to Japan for holidays as well.
I honestly can't remember when it started, but visiting Japan had become a compulsory annual trip. It never disappoint. Each time you go, you'll find something new to awe and marvel. So did my recent trip in February.
Japan, I love you!
