Me: Don't you look down as you walk? Every step you take reminds you how ugly your shoes are...
K*: Yeah, but eventually they wear out and become just another pair of "ugly shoes".
Me: That's why we keep buying, my dear.
His reactions are worrying me - not just because of his attitude towards shoes, but can you imagine that kind of negative thinking being extended to every other thing in life?
Soon he'll stop taking a shower because he'll come to realize that we're bound to get filthy as the day goes on anyway
